Due to an ever increasing population and life expectancy on the increase there is a growing need to adapt homes to meet peoples change in health care needs and lifestyle. Broad Oak are becoming known as a specialist provider, within Staffordshire and the surrounding areas, of such facilities.

Due to our knowledge gained over the years we are able to designs systems in properties that were previously thought to be unable to be adapted.

We are also able to provide access systems in and around the property including ramps, door widening, door access systems, handrails, specialist kitchens – anything that can help to improve the home can be provided by Broad Oak.


The Broad Oak management team have managed very successful projects for many small to large social housing providers, charity based organisations and private home owners, they are able to project manage schemes from start to finish, this can include the following.

  • From an individual property to a complete programme (up to 300 properties recently) can be completed in a financial year.
  • We will visit the property before starting any works and discuss in detail with the customer, their needs and requirements, also taking into account any design brief and budget from the Client.
  • Carry out a survey, provide a detailed drawing (3D if required) and specification for approval from the Client and the Customer.
  • Provide trained and experienced personnel – including surveyors, on site managers, operatives and administration staff.
  • Supply all materials and equipment associated with adaptation works including shower trays, special needs showers, pumped waste systems, hoist systems, toilets with integrated washing facilities, rise and fall baths, ventilation and extraction facilities – even down to supplying or fitting a customer’s toilet roll holder.
  • We can liaise with social service providers for items such as temporary toilet facilities whilst the works are being carried out.
  • Supply of cost effective tiling and flooring systems that meet specification needs but can also be personalised for each and every customer, to give them an input into the project.
  • Completion of works within a very tight time frame ensuring the customer is aware of each process on a daily basis, and keeping any disruption to a minimum.
  • Giving the Client weekly updates on completions and spends to assist in the monitoring on budget restrictions.
